If you are considering buying your own paintball gear here are a few things to take into consideration.

First Paintball Gun-

When looking for your first paintball gun or a new paintball gun there are a few paintball companies to keep in mind. If you have done some research you have probably heard of the following companies-

TippmannSpyder/KingmanAzodinDangerous Powers

These companies are currently the leading companies in the industry to look into when getting your first paintball gun. These companies are known for offering the customer paintball guns in the price range from $89.95 to $599.95. This allows the customer to find a reliable paintball gun starter package between

One thing to keep in mind as a new player is you most likely want a paintball gun that is easy to be cleaned or a gun that doesn’t need to be cleaned very often, this will keep a new, inexperienced player from taking apart  and losing any parts to their gun. One thing that Pro Edge Paintball offers to help the new player out is our Life Time Service Warranty. This warranty includes the unlimited use of our repair and cleaning services on any paintball gun you purchase from Pro Edge Paintball. This does not cover parts but if purchased through our store, warranty parts are typically covered for the first 90 Days up to the first 6 months since the date of purchase.

 First Paintball Mask-

Choosing the best paintball mask is one of the most important paintball gear purchases you will ever make. No matter what mask you purchase you will want to make sure that the paintball mask you purchase is going to last you a while. When making this purchase be sure to actually try on the mask in order to see if the mask fits comfortably. Normally the best paintball mask for you is going to be the one that calls your name when you put it on. There is nothing worse than not trying on a mask, wearing it to the paintball field and after only a few minutes of wearing it, it begins to rub on your face wrong or you don’t feel like you can breathe well in it. What is recommended is to check out the paintball store in your area and see if they have a large selection of paintball masks. At first glance you will think all masks are the same and will ask for the cheapest paintball mask available but this isn’t really what you want to do. Before asking someone what the best paintball mask in the store is I would ask the employee at the paintball store what they think would be the best mask for you to check out based on your level experience or lack of experience in the sport. Make sure the employee explains the difference between the low end and high end paintball masks that they have in stock, just because it is a paintball store does not mean they will have a large selection or carry paintball masks that are high quality.

Here are the steps to purchasing your first paintball mask goggles-

Step 1: Try on 5 different masks

Step 2: Tighten each mask as if you were really going to wear them

Step 3 : Insure they fit snugly and are still comfortable

Step 4: Insure the lens in the mask is a thermal lens (dual lens), not just an anti fog.

Step 5: Insure the mask actually covers the important parts of your head and face.

First Paintball Hopper/Loader-

When looking for a hopper for your first gun most likely you will want to go with the entry level basic loader. These loaders will cost you roughly $5.00 and considered the “gravity feed loader”. What this means is the paintballs will fall at the speed that gravity pulls them down. The other options when looking for a hopper/loader are the upgraded electronic loader. When looking for this type of hopper we recommend to stay away from any loader under $30, this price range of loader will not give you any better performance in most cases than the typical gravity feed loader.  A few upgraded loaders to look into are-

VL Eye Force Loader

Invert Halo TOO Loader

Empire Z2 Loader

Dye Rotor

These loaders are listed in order from lease expensive to most expensive.

First Paintball Air Tank-

When purchasing your first air tank for your first paintball gun you will most likely look into Co2 paintball air tanks. Most of your entry level paintball guns operate on Co2! Co2 is the least expensive way to get into the sport however compressed air or “Nitrogen” tanks are better tanks and better for your paintball gun.

Co2 paintball air tanks can be filled at your local sporting goods store along with any paintball field or store so this makes Co2 the preferred choice for most newer players.

Compressed air is a more expensive type of air and is typically required on your more expensive, higher end paintball guns.
